Yakov Peretz has more than 30 years experience in aquaculture. For the last 15 years he has been working as extension officer in the Israel Ministry for Agriculture and Rural Development, covering many developing issues in Israeli aquaculture. He has been involved in developing gynogenetic Carps and has worked in genetics, breeding and fattening of Tilapia.

Yakov Peretz has participated in a number of projects, including
• Aquaculture development at the Israeli Negev Desert Committee 
• Israeli Aquaculture Directory
• Advisory Committee for RAS technology
• Advisor for introduction of barramundi to the R&D Ramat Negev Institute
• Developing and participant in R&D on organic fish culture in Israel

• Development of commercial projects in Serbia and Nigeria
